This meg tooth has some damage but is still here after millions of years
This megalodon tooth is a true find from my diving adventures, and its authenticity is unquestionable. I take pride in not altering any fossil shark teeth through repair or restoration. As much as I'd like to keep every discovery, including this one, I offer it to fellow fossil lovers via DarkWaterMegs.com to keep the passion alive.
All items being sold are fossils, not modern sharks, these are all fossils that are millions of years old.
The two videos below show me finding and recovering Megalodon teeth while scuba diving in a dark water river in the Southeast United States. The teeth in the video are not the one above that is for sale but I posted the videos here to give you an idea of how teeth can be recovered if everything goes perfectly.
The Megalodon shark was the apex predator of the ancient oceans. Megalodon ruled the seas during the Pliocene and Miocene epochs and scientists believe they lived between 3-16 million years ago.
Due to the Megalodon's skeletal structure being made of cartilage instead of bone there is almost nothing left of the giant predator other than the huge teeth they left behind. These impressive teeth have lasted millions of years because a small percentage of them were preserved because of their dense enamel and ideal mineral and fossilization conditions.
Megalodon was one of the largest predators to ever to live on earth, it is believed that they reached over 60 feet long. Not only did the Megalodon have impressive size but they had the strongest bite of any creature, ever.
